We are quickly approaching the end of the 2020-21 faith formation year. We have been blessed by some wonderful Catechists faithfully teaching our children, wonderful and responsible parents bringing their children to classes or teaching their children at home despite the pandemic, and dedicated parishioners continuing to contribute financially so that the faith formation program can continue to provide the materials our families need.
We will be able to provide the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation to the students who have worked hard to prepare within the guidelines the Sacramento Diocese has provided. Thank you to Father Eric and Father Jesus for helping these students to receive their First Reconciliations and for administering the various Sacraments this Spring.
For those of you who did not enroll your child this year, who just moved to the Lincoln area, or who didn’t have a child 6 or order, and who will need to enroll your children for Fall 2021-22, please return to this page, check the bulletin, and/or listen for announcements at Masses beginning in June. We will have details about when registration will begin. At this time, we anticipate registration will commence in early August – so don’t miss the boat.
Additionally, the Family Formation Home Study program was very successful so we anticipate offering Home Study again for 2021-22. There will be more information regarding this in June as well.
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program (children ages 3-6) was also a success. We had only 4 students in our inaugural year, but that was just the right size to allow for us to begin and make sure that the children were safe. If you have a child in this age group and are interested in the program, please contact us for information about the program and to take a tour of the “Atrium” where these sessions are held.
If you are interested in helping out with any of the faith formation programs, please contact the Religious Education office at 916-645-2684 or stjoelincolndre@gmail.com to ask about the opportunities and needs.
